Louisville Water Company has publicly acknowledged tens of thousands of lead service lines still active in the city. The utility has a replacement program underway โ but it's projected to take years to complete, and in the meantime those lines remain in service.
In Southern Indiana โ Clarksville, Jeffersonville, New Albany โ aging infrastructure is a documented concern. Many homes built before 1986 in these communities have never had their service lines inspected or replaced.
